Season One

Eight teams joined the very first League of Legends season ever to battle each other for glory. Some new faces joined the league, while some had made a name for themselves already. Let’s take a look at the eight participants in #TCL League of Legends Season One:

All worthy contenders for victory. Season one saw a total of 15 matches, with the grand final on the 15th of May 2019! Let’s see how these teams did, who stand out and which team ultimately took the victory! 

The season

The season started with a blast for some teams, others were not so fortunate. SP Thessaloniki and Swordfish Banjaluka both came through the groupstage unbeaten, while Antwerp Lions and Reload Prague could not win a single match. 

When the groupstage was done, the semi-finals were played on the 8th of May. The first match saw HuB Valence best Swordfish Banjaluka. The second one was a face-off between SP Thessaloniki and Antwerp Lions 2, which concluded in favor of the Greence team! 

The grand final was played on the 15th of May and was a best of three! In an awesome final, viewers on Twitch saw SP Thessaloniki beat HuB Valence in a 2 – 1 esports thriller. Make sure to check our Twitch Clips page for the best League of Legends Grand Final clips! 


The MVP's

The season also saw a number of players perform extremely well. Full season one player stats are to be found at the LoL Season One Stats page. Let’s take a look at the best three for now:

  1. SP Thessaloniki’s Kirazi came first on the all-time kills leaderboard. With a stunning 68 kills in five events, Kirazi averaged over 13 kills per played event! Way to go! 
  2. HuB Valence’s iMKroky was ‘best of the rest’ with his KDA ratio of 4.36 in five events. A worthy finalist who who showed great skills on the rift in-game!  
  3. SP Thessalonki’s Sphex was the absolute assist champions, with 135 assists in five events. He also holds the best KDA ratio of all players who played more than 2 events: 4.90! Well played! 


What's next?

There is a new season on the way! Make sure to keep an eye on the schedule page for all the information on scheduled matches. For now, the new League of Legends season will start on the following date:
